"He is perfectly warm and would like it noted he is not to be stirred," says a milkman

- Can pronounce the word 'bergamot' so beautifully that nearby kettles curtsy.
Stephen Fry has dissolved into a single cup of tea in a Norfolk village hall, where it sits on a trestle table beside the biscuits. Nobody will finish it, as it clears its throat whenever a lip approaches. The tea is a rich amber and holds its temperature with remarkable dignity.
Monday, 9.15am: the cup is poured and begins reciting Wilde. Tuesday, 2pm: a volunteer named Brenda adds milk and is corrected on the order of service. Thursday, 11pm: it reads the whole of Chapter One of an audiobook to the cleaner's mop. Saturday, 4pm: a second spoon is declined.
His statement was passed on by the village hall's tea urn, which gurgled it out over forty minutes. It reads: "I am entirely well, and rather snug. I should be most obliged if nobody were to mention the word 'dregs', and might somebody kindly fetch a saucer, for I feel quite exposed."
Do not stir. Do not hurry him. Offer a saucer and a biscuit.
