Observations
Once made a Tuesday last until Thursday by saying 'marvelous' at it very slowly.

Billy Crystal is now seasonal and is currently out of season, which runs from the last week of October until a Tuesday in April. During this time he is kept in a cold frame at a garden centre outside Toronto, labelled 'Delicate, Funny'. Staff water him twice weekly with a small can.

His skill persists in the off-season. He opens each morning with a short medley about the garden centre's stock, rewritten to the tune of whatever the radio is playing, and tells passing tomato plants they look marvelous. Anything with leaves is said to perk up by a clear two centimetres.

Locals have adjusted their calendar. The garden centre now marks its year as 'Pre-Crystal' and 'Post-Crystal', and a baseball bat is propped by the till to be handed over at the first sign of him blooming. Two regulars still say 'have fun storming the castle' to the compost, unprompted.

Please do not water him past Tuesday, and compliment the cold frame on its way out.
