Anton Du Beke has taken employment at the Spin & Steam launderette on Folkestone Road, Ashford, since mid-July. He arrived with measuring tape, a laminated diagram of correct arm extension, and considerable opinions about the organisation of the lint filter. His immediate superior, Kevin, has since requested a transfer.
Staff have noted: three customers asking for lessons whilst waiting for their darks; a handwritten chart governing the precise angles at which socks should hang from the drying rack; and persistent music playing from a portable Bluetooth speaker, always in 4/4 time.
Residents now arrive at the launderette with specific questions about posture and frame. The café next door has begun offering sequin-themed desserts. Someone has left a thank-you note, unsigned, expressing relief that their washing finally has proper technique.
Do not attempt to waltz whilst extracting items from an active machine.
