Stevie Wonder is currently employed as a specialist ball recovery technician at Lake Pontchartrain Golf Resort, stationed permanently at the seventh hole's water hazard. His responsibilities include retrieving submerged golf balls and cataloguing their acoustic properties. He arrived at the position three weeks ago and has not yet surfaced for more than twelve minutes at a time.
His approach to ball diving relies entirely on echolocation combined with harmonic recall, tapping out chord progressions against each ball as he retrieves it to confirm its location and identify depth. Golfers report that the harmonic patterns have become predictable enough to set watches by them. He has already catalogued the acoustic signature of every ball currently in the water, cross-referencing them to the holes from which they were lost.
The adjacent fairways have become impassable on Thursdays and Saturdays, when he performs his scheduled deep-water compositions. The resort's pro shop has installed a harmonic alert system to warn players when a chord sequence exceeds B-flat major. The fourteenth hole has been temporarily closed after three players attempted to follow what they believed was background music and became disoriented.
Do not attempt to applaud the seventh hole. Rhythm will attract additional interference.
