Sean Lock is now resident in the back of a display wardrobe at a furniture showroom south of Adelaide. He maintains a steady schedule of consultations with members of the public, who queue outside the flat-pack structure during designated hours and communicate through the door frame.
'He's very professional about the whole thing,' says Wendy Cho, a Mega Mart stock auditor. 'I've seen him in there three times this week. He's got a little reading light rigged up, proper notes on a clipboard, asks very specific questions about people's problems. The wardrobe smells of old wood and ink now. He tips the whole thing forward slightly when someone's making a point he disagrees with.'
Monday 09:45 – Lock observed arranging the wardrobe's interior shelving with an unusual amount of precision. Tuesday 14:20 – Delivered a forty-minute monologue about hinges to a bewildered pensioner. Wednesday 02:00 – Wardrobe rocked gently; cause unknown. Thursday 16:30 – Requested additional felt pads from management. Friday 11:15 – Currently resident, door closed, humming audible.
Do not attempt to interrupt consultations by knocking. Slide written inquiries under the door only.
