Michael Flatley continues his work as driver of the Istanbul Metropolitan Mobile Library, route 47. The van travels daily between the waterfront and the old quarter, stopping at fourteen designated points. Staff report that the interior shelving, when in motion, adopts an unexpected rhythm.
Mr Flatley, through his logistics coordinator, has stated: "The books are simply responding to the road. Turns demand timing. Stops require precision. It is not deliberate." He notes the fiction section remains, as yet, unaffected.
The council has received sixty-three complaints regarding tapping sounds from the vehicle and seventeen compliments about the improved alphabetisation of Turkish literature. One resident reports the children's section "moves like it knows something we don't." Repairs to the suspension are scheduled for next month.
Keep book trolleys at least six metres from the vehicle during operation.
