Observations
Each copy insists it is the real one, using different accents to prove it.

Meryl Streep is no longer a singular entity. As of 17 January she exists as a limited run of exactly 500 individually numbered copies, each signed in her own hand by a different version of herself. The project was announced through a statement her publicist received on a sticky note left in a Pret napkin dispenser.

A spokesperson for copy number 287 confirmed via email that Meryl sends her regards, though copy 443 disputes the wording through a tape-recorded message left on a car park barrier ticket machine. She notes that the arrangement allows for schedule flexibility and ensures no performance is ever truly repeated, which she describes as 'a gift after fifty years of people expecting consistency.'

Experts remain divided on whether all 500 copies share identical memories or whether each formed its own from the moment of separation. The British Museum wants the original; the remaining 499 want to know if they count as originals too. A musicologist in Leeds insists one of them is humming the theme from Mamma Mia! backward, though no copy admits to this.

Guidance for the public
