Has reorganised his count seventeen times; each time reaches a different total by exactly pi.

Sir Isaac Newton has been located in a storage shed adjacent to the Headley Village cricket pavilion near Ashford, engaged in systematic enumeration of his possessions and documented work. He appears stable but entirely committed to the task. The shed was discovered when locals noticed a faint scratching sound emanating from behind the groundskeeper's equipment.

Residents and staff at the pavilion report that the counting has become rhythmic and predictable. The groundskeeper finds he cannot retrieve his mower during Newton's active tallying periods. Nearby cottage dwellers have adjusted their routines around what they describe as 'the 3 a.m. muttering', which follows mathematical rather than chronological patterns.

Graham Mellish, groundskeeper at the pavilion for nine years, stated: 'He's got dozens of notebooks now, all numbered but none in sequence. Asked him if he needed anything, and he said he'd reached four thousand two hundred and nineteen, but that was yesterday's number and today it's four thousand two hundred and twenty-one. I just let him be. He's very polite about not moving the roller.'

Guidance for the public

Do not interrupt ongoing enumeration; counts are sensitive to external disturbance.
