Observations
Can project his voice so precisely that donkeys begin responding to stage directions as if blocking a scene.

Ian McKellen has taken employment as a handler at Clacton-on-Sea's Sunny Slopes Donkey Park. He arrived in late September and immediately began requiring the animals to process in formation during the morning briefing. The park's proprietor reports this is making scheduling difficult.

The local council's complaints department received seventeen submissions from parents noting that their children's donkey rides had been interrupted by extended soliloquies from The Tempest. A letter commending his "meticulous attention to safety protocols and his ability to calm the most nervous animal" arrived from a retired riding instructor in Frinton. The council has made no formal ruling.

"He was standing between the two stalls with a wooden prod in one hand, going through what I can only describe as Macbeth's castle scene," said Deborah Chinn, 52, a keeper at the park. "The donkeys were just eating. He seemed to think they were being disrespectful to the text."

Guidance for the public

Do not interrupt donkey rides with soliloquies. The children have paid for their time.
