Brian Cox
Brian Cox: we can recover this, we just need proper equipment and time.
- Location
- Junction 37 services car park, near the eastbound slip road marked with faded paint.
- Currently
- Attempting to extract particle physics from traffic control systems, day twelve.
- Last confirmed sighting
- Gesturing at the number 7 approach light, Tuesday, 3:47pm.
- Observations
- Can reconstruct the Standard Model using only orange traffic cones and a clipboard. No one has asked him to stop.
Brian Cox has been working at the car park services beside Junction 37 since last Tuesday, attempting to separate fundamental physics from a set of traffic lights that has somehow absorbed it. The phenomena began at the eastern approach lights. He arrived with wire cutters and a laminated diagram of photon wavelengths, informing the duty manager that this was recoverable but would take focus.
Through the services cafe manager, Brian released a statement: 'The universe didn't stop being interesting when it parked itself in these junction lights. I've asked for a ladder, three extension leads and nobody touching the pedestrian crossing until Thursday. The physics is still there. That's the good bit.'
He has begun demonstrating the light cycles using hand gestures, standing in the car park with both arms tracing elliptical paths to show the amber-to-red pattern. He has already filled a flip chart with sketches of traffic flow as waves and particles. Drivers are confused, but he has explained to the traffic authority that the system is now a working model of quantum superposition, and turning it off would ruin the demonstration.
Do not allow him near traffic control systems without a supervisor present.
