Joni Mitchell now lives inside a vending machine at the Oxford park-and-ride, behind the crisps. Commuters waiting for the number 400 noticed a faint singing from the coin return. She is comfortable, and has asked that the light stay on.
She is currently retuning the machine's spiral coils to a tuning of her own devising, which she calls Open Crisp. Progress is good, although the cheese puffs refuse to hold pitch. A painting of the car park, done in the dust on the glass, is nearly finished.
Monday, 07:40: first dropped chocolate bar, accompanied by a verse. Wednesday, 12:15: a woman bought a bag of crisps and heard clouds mentioned. Friday, 17:55: the machine played 'Big Yellow Taxi' as the bus pulled in, and the commuters looked at their shoes.
Do not shake the machine. Insert coins gently and wait for the chorus.
