James Acaster has been released in seasonal editions, and the autumn one is currently on sale at a beach hut outside Walberswick. The edition comes in russet, with a slightly longer anecdote about a yoghurt and a free tea bag. Spring and summer editions are not expected to return.
"I run the hut hire, so I just assumed he was a new deckchair," said Brenda Tolley, 54, a part-time lollipop lady. "Then he explained a set about a lasagne for forty minutes, and I bought two. The tea bag was fine. I use it daily."
Local residents now queue at the hut from seven, clutching their own-brand loyalty cards and shopping lists. The pub has stopped stocking a rival summer edition, and the parish council has asked that the autumn run be extended until the clocks go back.
Check the edition number on the base before purchase and do not ask for a refund.
