Tony has taken a post collecting trolleys from the car park behind a hotel conference centre in Brussels. He starts each shift by walking up to the first trolley with a confident grin, as if to a door. Colleagues say he has never once been late.
He is currently clearing bay nine, and it is going well, although he will not push a trolley until he has made a short statement beside it. Each trolley is then returned with a sincere head tilt and a pointing hand. Coin deposits are up, and he insists the trend is a priority.
A tour of seven car parks begins next Monday, with a lectern installed at each trolley shelter. Dates run through to the end of the month, with a further season planned for the retail park by the ring road. Early booking is advised for anyone wanting a trolley delivered with three repeated words.
Return your trolley promptly and do not ask whether he has anything to say.
