Welsh lay-bys 0, Bean 212: one does not simply drive past, fixtures continue through autumn
- Location

- Currently
- Walking solemnly into every Welsh lay-by, alphabetically
- Last confirmed sighting
- Lay-by 213, Powys, standing near a bin, gazing gravely westward
- Observations
- Can make a gravel verge sound like the edge of Middle-earth by clearing his throat.
Sean Bean is currently visiting every lay-by in Wales, one at a time, and announcing that one does not simply drive past. He arrives on foot, stands near the bin for roughly twenty minutes, and nods at the verge before moving on. The Yorkshire accent has been described by a burger van owner as 'a lot at that hour'.
On Monday at 7.40am he walked into a lay-by near Brecon and stayed until a sheep left. Tuesday at 2pm he did two near Rhayader, and on Thursday at 4.15pm he stood in the rain at Machynlleth for an hour. On Saturday at 6am he was seen holding a flask like a sword.
The tour continues with Gwynedd from 14 October, with Anglesey pencilled in for the second week of November. Pembrokeshire follows in the new year, and a closing night at the lay-by nearest Mordor is planned for 1 March, subject to gravel. Ticketing is not available, as nobody has found the entrance.
Do not drive past any Welsh lay-by without checking whether he is in it.
