Miranda Hart is now running exactly two days behind, like a recorded highlights programme. Whatever she does on Monday is seen by the public on Wednesday, complete with a little caption. She has taken this in good humour and has asked everyone to bear with.
"I sell ice creams by the harbour, and she tripped over the bench on Saturday," said Gunnar, a kiosk assistant in Copenhagen. "I saw it on Monday. She was still apologising to the bench, then she looked straight at me and said 'such fun' to nobody."
Miranda is currently trying to catch up with herself by walking briskly, which has so far added a further hour. She is also rehearsing her own reactions in advance so they land on time. It is going moderately, with several laughs arriving on the wrong afternoon.
Do not wave at her until Thursday; she will wave back on Saturday.
