Can hear a barrier arm lift from three postcodes away and sings it back in harmony.

Miley Cyrus has taken a job as attendant at a toll booth outside Franklin, Tennessee, working the 5am to 1pm shift. Motorists pay $2.50 and are handed their change with a single fresh flower, which Miley says she buys herself.

Her voice is carrying the booth. Every barrier lifts on a raspy belt of 'Party in the U.S.A.', and drivers who say they hopped off a plane at LAX are waved through free. The blonde wig stays on a hook for the Hannah Montana lane, which is cash only.

She is currently trying to fit a wrecking ball into the booth's maintenance cupboard, as the barrier has been stuck at half-height since Tuesday. It is not going well, but the queue is fully singing along and the average wait is up to eleven minutes.

Guidance for the public

Have exact change ready and please hum the chorus quietly.
