- Currently
- Retrieving her voice from lane markings, one arrow at a time
- Last confirmed sighting
- Lane 9, Thursday league night, murmuring at the gutter
- Observations
- Can still make a bowling ball sound like it is lying about its whereabouts.
Kathleen Turner's voice has leaked into the lane markings of a bowling alley behind a services car park near Leicester. It settled into the seven dots and the arrows during a quiet Tuesday, and she is now trying to get it back. Brenda on shoe hire says the lanes have started to purr.
The public keep asking whether the ball can be rolled down it to be told it is not bad, just drawn that way. It can, but the pins fall over out of politeness. They also ask if she wants it back, and she does, though she accepts the lanes are using it well.
Found so far are one husky vowel under the foul line, a faint 'Peggy Sue' hummed by the ball return, and a lane-nine arrow that answers questions with a slow, knowing pause.
Please roll quietly and do not ask lane nine anything you would not ask in person.
